Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1967. Published *Neo World War* (Keizai-kai) in 2003, after which he began writing primarily fictional war stories. In 2010, he shifted his focus to historical fiction, where he has since gained widespread popularity. His major series include *The New Ronin: Young Lord Shinmi Sakon*, *A Hundred Tales of Merchants*, *Slash! Edo Bodyguards*, *The Courtier Warrior: Nobuhira*, and *Flowers of This World*. In 2025, he received the “Series Award” at the 14th Japan Historical Fiction Writers Association Awards.
