1,716 memoirs were collected for a project by Asahi Weekly, which called for submissions 20 years after the end of the war.
The stories include friendship with captured enemy soldiers,
the experience of betraying people living in the war zone,
the struggle to live clutching potassium cyanide--they vividly describe the reality of the war.
The book takes us from Siberia and the Kuril Islands in the north to Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal Island in the south. What happened in the battlefields once known as the Empire of Japan, and how did our fathers fight?
This is a reprint of 50 war stories of unknown warriors passed down from father to son.

Delivery and shipping of products
Delivery is only available within Japan.
- Delivery of products on sale
Delivery to our neighborhood area (around Jiyugaoka, Meguro-ku, Tokyo) will be made by our staff in 2 to 4 days from the date of order. Except for offline payment (cash on delivery), delivery will be made to the post office.
Delivery to non-neighborhood areas will take approximately 7 days from the date of order, via Click Post (delivery to the mailbox) or other delivery methods.
- Delivery of pre-release products
will be delivered after the release date.
Usually, delivery will be made the day before or on the day of release, but there are cases where delivery may be delayed depending on the timing of your order. Please understand in advance.
