【あらすじ】
春先になると花粉症で鼻が利かなくなるモトコは、

その後、職場を辞めた村崎さんのメールからは、
パンダと人類をめぐる狩猟、飼育、繁殖の歴史がひも解かれ、
ある目的で海外を転々としていることが見えてくるのだった。
モトコが村崎さんの指示を仰ぎながら動物たちの世話をつづけるなか、
上野動物園では日本が所有する最後のパンダ・リンリンが亡くなり、
中国ではオリンピックを前に、加工食品への毒物混入事件と大地震が起きる――。
